Currently, he is a Sr. Security Response Technical Program Manager at VMware, where he is responsible for handling security vulnerabilities in VMware products and services. Praveen's main responsibilities at VMware include coordinating the investigation and remediation of security vulnerabilities in VMware products and services, risk assessment and analysis of security issues reported on VMware products and services, vulnerability intelligence gathering, composing and publishing security advisories and security blogs, working with external security researchers on responsible disclosure of security issues, and helping support teams with customer security-related inquiries. He also represents VMware in public hacking contests. Before joining VMware, Praveen worked as a Security Analyst at Symantec, where he was part of the DeepSight Intelligence team in India. His main responsibilities at Symantec included analysis and assessment of publicly known security vulnerabilities, producing threat analysis documents by analyzing zero-day vulnerabilities, developing and fixing scripts to automate their work, and writing and publishing small security journals available to their customers and internal network. Praveen has a Master of Science degree in Communications and Computer Security from Télécom Paris and Eurecom, and a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology from Shri Ram Murti Smarak College of Engineering & Technology.
